This course gives therapists a first row seat as they watch Lisa Dion explain children’s moods and behaviors to teachers and early childhood educators. This course gives therapists and teachers a deeper understanding of children’s behaviors as we dive into the details of neuroscience and learn how the different states of the nervous system show up in the classroom and on the playground, while learning how to develop emotional regulation in their young students.
Understanding Children’s Moods and Behaviors: A Neurobiological Perspective objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify how the brain processes information, activates the different states of the nervous system and the impact this has on childrens’ behaviors in play and academic settings
- Participants will understand the role they play in teaching children self-regulation
- Participants will learn how the environment contributes to a child’s ability to self-regulate during play and school
